Statement re: DECC Renewables Obligation (RO) consultation

Commenting on the announcement regarding the consultation period of the DECC RO banding review, Dave Rogers, Regional Director of E.ON Climate & Renewables, said:

"We welcome the start of the consultation process which outlines proposed levels of support for renewable technologies.  Our initial view is that the proposals for offshore wind and marine in particular will help give confidence to these sectors.  We'll be reviewing the proposals for each technology in full detail and look forward to working with the Government throughout the consultation process.

"The result of the consultation will have a significant impact on the future of low carbon generation in the UK and the approach developers, like E.ON, take to meeting very stretching renewable energy targets by 2020.

"It is vital that we continue to develop a mix of low carbon energy, which includes all types of technologies; onshore and offshore wind, biomass and further development of wave and tidal."
