E.ON welcomes new Government strategy on electric vehicle infrastructure

E.ON has today (Thursday 30 June) welcomed the Office for Low Emission Vehicles’ (OLEV) new strategy on electric vehicle infrastructure in the UK.

Charles Bradshaw-Smith, Head of E-Mobility R&D at E.ON, said: “We welcome the Government’s new strategy on electric vehicle infrastructure.

“At E.ON we’re keen to help people get energy fit by using their energy more efficiently, whether that’s through insulating their homes, moderating their energy use or even generating their own.

”And we see electric vehicles as having an important part to play in helping people to access cleaner and better energy when meeting their transport needs.

“From our own research we know that certain types of home charging are faster, safer and more energy efficient than others. Getting the right technologies and tariffs in place is absolutely key if we’re to enable more families and businesses to benefit from a more sustainable solution.

“We’d like to see even greater collaboration between the energy industry, vehicle manufacturers and other experts to help ensure that we have an electric vehicle infrastructure in the UK which is fit for purpose.”
