Surrey Age Concern now more energy efficient thanks to E.ON’s Sustainable Energy Fund

Age Concern Merstham, Redhill and Reigate has celebrated the installation of energy efficient measures at its centre in Merstham, following a grant of nearly £10,000 from energy company E.ON.

The grant has been used to insulate the centre's roof, install new ‘A' rated double glazing and new radiators to make the building more efficient.

Tony Jenkin Jones, Community Relations Executive for E.ON, said: "We're absolutely delighted to see the results that the fund award has been able achieve for Age Concern in Merstham. The increased energy efficiency will improve the facilities for the community, reduce the hall's impact on the environment and save on costs."

Michael Ward, Chief Officer for the Merstham centre said: We were very thankful to receive the grant from E.ON. The new energy measures will play an important role in the welfare of the older generation who visit the centre and help us keep costs down too."

E.ON's Sustainable Energy Fund helps community groups and not-for-profit organisations develop sustainable energy measures.

The Sustainable Energy Fund is backed up by a dedicated web resource which provides top tips on energy efficiency and sustainability and full details of how to apply for a grant. To access it, visit www.eon-uk.com/sustainableenergyfund.
