E.ON invites local residents to have their say on proposed Lancashire-Cumbria border wind farm

Residents near Kirkby Lonsdale, on the border between Lancashire and Cumbria, will have the opportunity next week to meet with E.ON representatives to discuss its plans for a wind farm in the area.

The proposed wind farm could see the construction of up to nine turbines with a generation capacity of between 18MW and 27MW, or large enough to produce renewable electricity for around 9,000 homes[i]. Scheduled for the 9th and 10 February, the public exhibitions will be held at Hutton Roof Village Hall on Tuesday 9th and Whittington Village Hall on Wednesday 10th.

Nick Taylor, E.ON's project developer for the site, said: "This is a great opportunity for local people to share their views with us and to find out more about our plans.

"I'd urge anyone in the local area to come along, take a look at our proposal and chat to the team."

Details of the public exhibitions:

Tuesday 9 February, from 1pm - 8pm - Hutton Roof Village Hall, Hutton Roof, Carnforth, LA6 2PG

Wednesday 10 February, from 1pm - 8pm - Whittington Village Hall, Main Street, Whittington, Carnforth, LA6 2NY

In January, E.ON submitted a planning application to Lancaster City Council for the installation of an anemometry mast in the area. If granted planning consent, the mast will help E.ON to learn more about wind speeds in the area and help in the planning of the proposed wind far.
