Norwich community centre gets warm feeling thanks to E.ON’s Sustainable Energy Fund
Energy company E.ON has awarded over £2,000 to Clover Hill Community Association to install cavity wall insulation to the Centre and benefit local groups.
Clover Hill Community Association is a thriving centre for the community and has provided educational and recreational facilities for all ages since 1977. On the outskirts of Norwich the hall is used as a meeting point for many local groups including pre-school clubs, fitness and dance sessions, Cubs and Scouts, as well as a lunch club for sheltered housing residents.
The grant comes from E.ON's Sustainable Energy Fund which helps community groups and not-for-profit organisations develop sustainable energy measures.
The money will be used to fill the already existing cavity walls with insulation to help keep the centre warm over the cooler months and make savings through energy efficiency.
Tony Jenkin Jones, Community Relations Executive for E.ON, said: "We're very pleased to award Clover Hill Community Association with this funding, to help them improve the facilities for the community, reduce their impact on the environment, and save on costs too.
Sally Evison, Support & Development Worker at Clover Hill Community Association, said: "The award which will cover the cost of cavity wall insulation at the village hall is very welcome. As well as keeping the costs affordable, it will make the building warmer for the user groups using it - encouraging them to consider insulation as an energy saving measure in their own homes."
The Sustainable Energy Fund is backed up by a dedicated web resource which provides top tips on energy efficiency and sustainability and full details of how to apply for a grant. To access it go to
