E.ON announces reduction in 'FixOnline 3' bills - now the cheapest dual fuel energy product available nationally

E.ON, one of the UK's leading energy companies, has today (FRIDAY) announced that it has reduced the average bill of its dual fuel product ‘FixOnline 3' by £191.  The reduction follows E.ON's recent WinterGas launch, and makes FixOnline 3 once again the cheapest dual fuel energy product available on a nationwide basis at national average consumption1.

On average, a FixOnline 3 dual fuel customer would pay £962 a year, saving them £27 a year compared to the average UK online bill2.

FixOnline 3 is the cheapest product available in 11 out of 14 regions, and is cheapest nationally when averaged across all regions1. Customers in these regions will receive the additional discount with immediate effect.

Customers on FixOnline 3 will have their prices fixed until 1 December 2010 and can benefit from an average discount of 14% on E.ON's Standard fixed monthly Direct Debit offline prices3.

FixOnline 3 customers must pay by fixed monthly Direct Debit and manage their energy accounts online. A cancellation charge of up to £30 applies if customers move off FixOnline 3 before 1 December 20104.

FixOnline 3 is offered as a dual fuel or single electricity product, is available online only, and has limited availability.

Jim Macdonald, Commercial Director of E.ON's Retail Business, said: "With winter now approaching and many of us turning the heating on, we're delighted to announce these changes to FixOnline 3.

"This announcement, coupled with the fact that we've launched WinterGas - a product which offers the cheapest gas bills on the market5, clearly demonstrates our commitment to keeping energy as affordable as possible this winter."

WinterGas

E.ON recently guaranteed that customers who take its new product, WinterGas, will have the cheapest gas bills this winter5.

WinterGas would save an average customer £77 a year compared to the average UK Standard gas bill6 and guarantees customers will have the cheapest gas bills until 31 March 2010.
