E.ON employees get running to support Knowle Fun Run
A group of 75 eager E.ON employees will be taking part in the 25
th annual Knowle Fun Run on Sunday 11
th May to raise money for local Solihull charities.
The five mile fun run has been organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions, and, this year, 1,900 entrants are expected to take part in the main run, as well as 300 children in the 400 yard mini fun run.
Bob Taylor, Managing Director of Generation at E.ON, said: "I regularly run in this event and it's always a fun day.
"I've encouraged as many E.ON staff to take part as possible and will be personally donating £5 to charity for each colleague that joins our team."
Dave Carter, the fun run organiser, said: "This year's fun run is already sold out and we're delighted to have a large contingent of E.ON runners joining us.
"Everyone that participates this year will receive a specially minted 25th Knowle Fun Run medal, as well as a certificate of achievement.
"Last year we had just over 1,500 people join us and we managed to raise over £37,000 for local charities, and this year we're hoping to raise even more for Acorns Children's Hospice, Jennifer Trust, Meningitis Trust, as well as other local charities.
"We're inviting everyone to come along to cheer on the runners and support Knowles' biggest community event, as the day is not about winning, but raising money for good causes."
The event will be taking place on Sunday 11th May from 11am, and further details can be obtained from the official website,
www.KnowleFunRun.org.uk.
