18 September 2006 00:00 Central Networks funds Boston junior footballers’ kit in recognition of employee’s volunteer work

Boston Juniors U11 Football Club celebrated the start of a new season in style when they premiered their new tracksuits donated by Central Networks, the local electricity distribution company.

The company donated £250 to the club in recognition of employee Adrian Daubney’s volunteering efforts at the club.

Adrian, who is Incident Manager at the company’s Sleaford depot, has been involved with the club for four years and is a familiar sight at Wednesday night training sessions and Sunday matches. He has also just been elected chairman of the club for this season.

“The boys are all delighted with their new tracksuits and look forward to wearing them to tournaments and league matches,” said Adrian.

“The team did well last season and finished fifth in the league and reached the semi finals of the Peterborough Cup, and I hope we can improve this season.

“The tracksuits are a real boost to our efforts because they reinforce team spirit and make the boys feel like a real team when they travel to matches.”

Central Networks is part of E.ON UK, the UK’s largest integrated power and gas company. E.ON UK supports its employees by recognising and rewarding the voluntary activities undertaken in their own time.

• E.ON UK supports its employees’ favourite charities by matching funds raised through sponsorship and other activities undertaken in employees’ own time;
• In 2005, 100 employees received matched time support from E.ON UK, which allows employees who volunteer 80 hours a year or more of their own time to claim a grant of up to £250 for their chosen not for profit organisation.
