17 July 2006 00:00 Central Networks offers cash to Midlands communities to build safer environments
Central Networks, the electricity distribution company for central England, is today (MON 17 JULY) launching its new community fund and urging communities throughout the East and West Midlands to apply for cash to build better and safer local environments.
The company, which is part of E.ON UK, has launched a new £70K fund as part of its commitment to work with the communities it serves.
Customer Operations Manager Phil Wilson said: “We’re delighted to launch this new fund which we believe could make a real difference in the communities we serve every day.
“It’s open to communities across the Midlands and all we need now is for local groups to get in touch and to apply for a grant of up to £2,500.”
The fund will support projects that will have a lasting and positive affect on the community’s environment. Central Networks will consider a wide range of applications, covering everything from improving safety in a children’s playground to building a nature reserve on waste ground,.
“We’re looking for groups to inspire us with their ideas for building a better community,” said Phil.
“What’s important to us is that these ideas will make a real difference to the places where our customers live and work.”
The fund is open to all local community groups and not for profit organisations with their own bank account located in the Central Networks distribution region, which covers central England. For more information and to download an application form visit www.central-networks.co.uk.
