29 June 2006 00:00 Central Networks to carry out emergency cable repairs in Kidderminster, warns of some traffic disruption

Central Networks, the electricity distribution company for central England, will be carrying out emergency repairs on an underground cable fault along a section of the A451/Stourport Road near the Kidderminster Ambulance Station starting on Saturday 1st July.

Following careful consultation with the local Highways Authority and the Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Service, work on the cable will begin at 6.30am on Saturday and is expected to take seven days.

Mike Lamming, Project Manager with Central Networks, said: “These repairs are essential and will help us to ensure a reliable electricity supply for the area.

“We apologise for the inconvenience, but I can assure local people that we will be doing everything we can to minimise disruption for drivers while we work on the cable.”

Central Networks, which is a part of E.ON UK, will be installing temporary traffic lights along the road where the engineers will be working.
