13 April 2006 00:00 Central Networks carries out emergency cable repair in Derby, warns of some traffic disruption
Central Networks, the electricity distribution company for central England, will carry out essential repair work in Derby City Centre from Monday 17th April and is warning motorists to expect some traffic disruption.
Engineers from the company will repair an underground cable on the junction of Uttoxeter Old Road and Slack Lane.
Traffic lights will be set up to control vehicles while the emergency repair work is carried out. It is expected that the job will take about a week to be finish and the traffic lights should come down on Sunday 23rd April.
Project Manager Tony Bunting said: “It’s absolutely essential that we carry out the work and we’ve been working closely with the City Council to ensure we get the job done as quickly as possible.
“We apologise to motorists for any disruption while we make the repair.”
