Central Networks Press Releases

07 September 2004 00:00 Power Discovery Zone goes back to school

As thousands of children across the Midlands moan about going back to school and boring lessons, a new and exciting way of learning could await them.

The Power Discovery Zone is both fun and educational and teaches youngsters about electricity, how it gets to our homes and the potential dangers associated with it.

Stephen Hennell, Network and Public Safety Manager at Central Networks, explained: “A colourful character called Sparky guides youngsters around the site and teaches them what dangers to look out for and what to do in an emergency.”

Teachers in the Midlands can use the site to access worksheets and experiments for key stages 1 and 2. These can be used in the classroom and support the national curriculum.

Stephen added: “Kids can use the Power Discovery Zone at school and at home. With lots of fun games and competitions it keeps children’s attention because it’s such a fun way to learn.

The website supports the Power Discovery Zone Bus and Truck which visits schools and shows across the East and West Midlands.

You can find the website at www.powerdiscoveryzone.com
