Central Networks Press Releases

30 June 2004 00:00 Safety first with Central Networks at the Royal Show

Central Networks will be making a special appearance at the Royal Show - Stoneleigh Park, this week, bringing essential safety advice to local people.

Children and adults alike will have the chance to learn all about electrical safety aboard two specially designed vehicles – the fun-packed Power Discovery Bus for children and the Community Safety Trailer for adults.

Dave Welbourne, Operational Safety Engineer at Central Networks, said: “Across the UK over 350 people, many of them children, are hurt each year through the misuse of electricity, so we really want to help everyone understand the dangers involved.

“By attending events such as agricultural shows we aim to get the important message across that electricity is normally very safe, but it has to be treated with respect. “

The Community Safety Trailer is a brand new exhibit that has been created by Central Networks to take electrical safety education out into the community.

The trailer covers a range of topics from safety in the home and at play, to safety in agriculture and industry.

Once on board the Power Discovery Bus, children can watch a safety video, before building electrical circuits with buzzers, motors and lights. The bus also houses its very own ‘Hazard Valley’ – a model landscape featuring urban and rural scenes full of potential hazards for everyone to spot.

For further information on electrical safety visit the brand new Central Networks website at www.central-networks.co.uk.
