Central Networks manager Neil Dodd was celebrating after his team came a respectable fourth in the Rally of the Midlands, raising more than £400 for Cancer Research along the way.
Central Networks sponsored Neil (age 42) and wife Val (40) to take part in the rally through Hinckley and Nuneaton, which took place on Saturday 12th June and Sunday 13th June, in their MG ZR. The rally is part of the National Tarmac Championship and after a great race Neil and his team are now in first position in their group.
Project Manager Neil said: “We’re delighted with how the team and the car performed. After a few teething problems, we gained confidence and we were able to push hard and achieve a great finishing place.
“Many of my Central Networks colleagues came down to cheer is on. It was a great atmosphere and everybody generously donated money to Cancer Research.”
Central Networks has agreed to match fund the money raised by Neil and his team.
The rally started in Hinckley town centre on Saturday June 12 and took in 10 stages through the Hinckley and Nuneaton area, before starting all over again on Sunday in Nuneaton, finishing outside the Town Hall at 3pm.
Neil and Val, from Coalville, have been competing together for six years. Neil has been rallying for over 22 years and Val for four.
