Central Networks Press Releases

27 May 2004 00:00 CONKERS given a helping hand by Central Networks volunteers

A group of 19 volunteers from Central Networks took a day away from the office to volunteer at CONKERS, the environment-based visitor centre in Leicestershire.

The volunteers took on a number of tasks, including creating willow hurdle fencing, making nesting boxes for the bird population and general weeding and clearing.

Rob Cooper, one of the Central Networks volunteers, said: “We’re always happy to help out with volunteering such as this.

“I know the team had a fantastic day out and really enjoyed the tasks they were given so hopefully we’ve made CONKERS a little bit better and more successful for visitors.”

Joy Tagg, from CONKERS, said: “The Central Networks volunteers were really enthusiastic and we are extremely grateful for all their hard work. We hope that the large nesting boxes made by the team will encourage barn owls to start nesting here at CONKERS.”
