Central Networks Press Releases

08 April 2004 00:00 Central Networks retains Metering Services and Utility Contracting Service activities to support its distribution business

Central Networks, the distribution arm of Powergen, announced today its decision to retain Metering Services Ltd (MSL) and the utility service based activities of the contracting business of Midlands Electricity, both of which had been subject to a strategic review.

Both businesses were acquired as part of the acquisition of Midlands Electricity, completed in January 2004.

Bob Taylor, Managing Director, Central Networks, said: “The retention of these activities will add to the strength of our customer service and will be an integral part in helping us to achieve our vision to become the UK’s leading distribution business by 2006.”

Central Networks will exit the non-utility contracting based activities.

This decision means that Central Networks will retain the Kingswinford site, MSL’s headquarters.
