24 September 2003 00:00 East Midlands Electricity launches new website

East Midlands Electricity (EME) has revamped and relaunched its website to give customers even more information about the services the company offers.

The relaunched site – available at www.eme.co.uk – offers updated and improved information about EME and its services and is easier to use.

Alun Rowlands, Key Customer Relationship Manager for EME, said: “The updated website will help us to communicate more effectively with our 2.4 million customers because it’s so easy to use.

“In addition, it’s another step in our quest to deliver high levels of customer service to our all our customers across the East Midlands region.”

The new site also includes details of the company’s pioneering “Cablesafe” venture, which was launched in February 2002.

The scheme, which offers builders and utility companies information about where EME electricity cables are located, has dramatically reduced the numbers of cable damage incidents within the EME Region.

The revamped site also includes the ever-popular Power Discovery Zone, an educational interactive site featuring games and work projects teaching the basics of how electricity is produced and how to use it.

Jerry Carnell (EME Safety Advisor) said: “The aim of the site is to help children learn about safety and to have fun while learning.

“The latest additions to the site build upon its existing success, and on the success of the Power Discovery Bus, in delivering safety messages to young children.”
