01 February 2003 00:00 EME engineers tackle last Lincolnshire homes and ask for public’s help

EME engineers have almost finished reconnecting homes in Lincolnshire left without power after Thursday’s blizzard.
Having already fixed hundreds of faults in the county, EME’s engineers are concentrating on the last 1,000 homes left without electricity.
And they are now asking the public for their help to make sure that they are aware of everyone who does not have power.
Bob Taylor, Managing Director of EME, said: “We’re pretty sure we know the location of every fault in the county but we want to make absolutely certain.
“Everyone without power should ring us on 0800 056 8090 and let us now precisely where they are so we can make sure we get a crew out to them as quickly as possible.
“We’ve already reconnected 46,000 homes and we’re confident everyone will have power by the end of the day.”
All major faults in the county have been dealt with, with engineers concentrating on smaller-scale problems that affect no more than a handful of properties. mf
Engineers from Northern Electric and Yorkshire Electricity again joined EME teams on the ground in Lincolnshire today.
