West Midland's based charity for children gains support from E.ON Community Fund
The UK charity Sunfield, based in Clent, near Stourbridge, has been awarded a grant of £2,000 from E.ON's Employee Community Fund, courtesy of E.ON employee Helen Moore.
Sunfield, a national UK charity, specialises in the care of children and young people, aged 6 to 19, with complex learning needs and is recognised internationally for its work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
Helen Moore, a HR Consultant with E.ON, said: "I was astounded by the work that takes place at Sunfield. Not only do they offer full time residential care, education and provision for day students they also provide an assessment and outreach service to support children within their own family and school environments. They make a real difference in people's lives and I was inspired to do my bit to help.
"In addition to the award from E.ON I was honoured to be able to organise a fundraising event for them featuring local band Flying Colours, whose front man Richard Hale is also an E.ON employee. I feel proud that E.ON and my colleagues helped me to do my bit and support such a worthwhile charity."
Sally Conway, Sunfield's Head of Family and Student Services, said: "We're extremely grateful to Helen, her colleagues and Flying Colours for supporting the work of Sunfield. We rely on donations to fund any new developments for the children and to have the support of a company such as E.ON is tremendous.
"The donations from the team and from the Employee Community Fund will help to fund the re-design and building of two autism specific houses which will accommodate 4 students in each residence. We thank everyone at E.ON for their continued support"
The E.ON Employee Community fund invites applications from employees based in the UK for funding of up to £2,000 for charities and community organisations that support education projects or vulnerable consumers.
