25 August 2010 15:43 Central Networks volunteers build playground retreat at Dudley school

A team of eager Central Networks volunteers recently spent a day transforming an outdoor area at Kate's Hill Primary School in Dudley.

The 14-strong team redesigned and built a roofed fortress area, creating a playground retreat to help inspire the children's playtime. The team also varnished the decking and vertical logged areas, enhancing the school's outdoor environment.

Mark Leadbetter, one of the willing volunteers and a key organiser, said: "It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile day. The team worked hard on all the improvements which were much appreciated by the school. What was also gratifying was feedback from nearby residents who congratulated us on the work we had done.

"The team building day was very rewarding for everyone involved and we hope the new play area will be an inspiration to the children of Kate's Hill Primary for years to come."
